Most vehicles already include a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), but some trim levels may not have this feature. In those cases drivers may not immediately notice when a tire loses pressure. When tire pressure drops the vehicle can begin to pull to one side and the tire may wear out much faster. There are two common types of TPMS systems. The first uses pressure sensors installed inside each wheel and displays the exact tire pressure. The second type works indirectly through the ABS system and detects pressure loss based on wheel rotation differences. Some drivers prefer to see the exact pressure in each tire. In those cases an aftermarket TPMS system with internal sensors and a separate display inside the vehicle can be installed. These systems are especially useful for crossovers, SUVs, and vehicles used for travel or off-road driving. At FIX SERVICE, we also provide installation of these systems upon customer request and configure the equipment for proper operation.
