Cleaning radiator fins
Removing debris from cooling stack
Cooling system airflow check
In the United States, cooling issues are often solved by simply replacing the radiator with a new aftermarket or OEM unit. However, in many cases the real problem is not a failed radiator but heavy contamination inside the radiator fins. Dirt, dust, insects, and road debris build up between the cooling radiator and the A/C condenser, restricting airflow. This can cause higher engine temperatures and reduced air conditioning performance. During certain repairs - such as front-end service, serpentine belt replacement, or partial disassembly of the cooling stack - we may perform radiator cleaning as an additional service. The radiator fins are carefully washed using controlled water pressure, special cleaning chemicals, and compressed air to avoid damaging the delicate aluminum fins. This is a very sensitive procedure because excessive pressure can easily bend the fins. Unfortunately, this often happens at low-quality car washes around New York, and once the fins are damaged the radiator usually needs to be replaced. Proper cleaning restores airflow through the cooling stack and improves both engine cooling and A/C performance.
