Buying a used vehicle always involves a certain level of risk, which is why a professional pre-purchase inspection is highly recommended. Many buyers typically look at the condition of the tires, brake rotors, exterior paint, interior condition, and how the engine runs. Some may also check for diagnostic trouble codes using a scan tool. However, this basic type of inspection does not always reveal hidden issues that may appear weeks or months after the purchase and lead to expensive repairs.
