Combustion gas leak test
Cylinder pressure diagnostics
Engine overheating diagnostics
A cylinder head leak test is performed to check the condition of the head gasket and to detect combustion gases entering the cooling system. This diagnostic is recommended when an engine overheats, coolant disappears without visible external leaks, bubbles appear in the expansion tank, or coolant changes color and develops an exhaust-like smell. During the test specialized diagnostic equipment is used to detect combustion gases in the cooling system and confirm possible head gasket failure or cylinder head damage. Our shop performs this type of inspection to accurately identify the problem and determine whether a head gasket replacement or cylinder head repair is required. Early diagnosis helps prevent serious engine damage and more expensive repairs.
