Electric power steering (EPS) diagnostics
Steering system fault code scanning
Steering motor and sensor inspection
Live data analysis of steering system
Hydraulic power steering is gradually disappearing from modern vehicles. For more than a decade, most manufacturers have been using Electric Power Steering systems (EPS). Unlike hydraulic systems, EPS does not require power steering fluid, pumps, or hydraulic lines, which makes the system simpler and more efficient from a manufacturing and maintenance perspective. However, when an electronic steering system develops a problem, diagnostics can become more complex because the system relies on electronic control modules, sensors, and an electric assist motor. Common symptoms may include steering warning lights, heavy steering effort, intermittent loss of power assist, or uneven steering response. On vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Honda, Ford, and Dodge, common EPS issues may involve the steering angle sensor, torque sensor, electric assist motor, or the steering rack control module. During diagnostics we scan the steering system for fault codes, analyze live data from the steering control module, and evaluate the operation of sensors and actuators. Our technicians' experience with electronic steering systems allows us to accurately identify the source of the problem and determine whether the issue requires calibration, repair, or component replacement.
