Emissions system inspection
The exhaust system in modern vehicles is part of the emissions control system and directly affects engine performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental compliance. The engine control module constantly monitors oxygen sensor data and adjusts the air-fuel mixture to maintain proper combustion and emissions levels. When one of the components in this system begins to malfunction, the Check Engine light often appears on the dashboard. The issue may be related to faulty oxygen sensors, exhaust leaks, catalytic converter efficiency problems, or other emissions control system faults. During the diagnostic process, our technicians use professional scan tools to analyze live engine data and evaluate the performance of oxygen sensors before and after the catalytic converter. The exhaust system is also inspected for leaks, cracks, or structural damage. Proper diagnostics are extremely important because a fault code related to emissions does not always mean that the catalytic converter has failed. In many cases the root cause may be an engine performance issue, air leak, or inaccurate sensor readings. Our experience allows us to identify the real cause of the problem and avoid unnecessary replacement of expensive components.
