Lighting wiring and coding
Some vehicles come from the factory with basic lighting systems, such as halogen headlights that provide relatively limited brightness. Many drivers choose to upgrade their lighting to improve visibility at night, during rain, or in foggy conditions. In these cases we install modern LED lighting or other upgraded headlight options. The key point is that these installations are done in an OEM-style way without cutting, modifying, or altering the vehicle's body. We select lighting components designed to fit the factory mounting locations and original brackets. This may include upgrading halogen headlights to LED units, installing improved light modules, or adding fog lights when the vehicle supports this configuration.
During installation there can sometimes be electrical differences between connectors, and the vehicle's onboard computer may detect the new lights as a fault. Our technicians resolve these issues by properly adapting the wiring, using correct connectors or adapters, and performing coding when necessary so the vehicle recognizes the new lighting correctly. At FIX SERVICE in New York, our technicians follow proper wiring practices and vehicle-specific electrical procedures to ensure the upgraded lighting works reliably while maintaining a clean factory-style installation.
