Exhaust leak repair
Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets are responsible for keeping the engine sealed properly. Over time rubber gaskets lose elasticity because of heat and can become hard, which may cause vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks. This problem often appears after service work when the intake manifold has been removed, for example during spark plug replacement or other engine repairs. Many times the old gaskets are reused even though they have already been compressed once and may no longer seal properly. As a result the engine may run rough, show air-fuel mixture errors, or produce unusual exhaust noise. In these cases replacing the gaskets is recommended. The cost of the service depends on the engine design and how difficult it is to access the manifolds.
