The oil filter, oil filter housing, and PCV system (oil separator) are important components of the engine lubrication and crankcase ventilation systems. Over time the oil filter housing can develop leaks and the PCV system may become restricted or fail. This can lead to crankcase pressure issues, oil leaks, or increased oil consumption. During engine service we inspect these components and replace them when necessary.
