Hybrid vehicles use a cooling system to regulate the temperature of the high voltage (HV) battery. A dedicated cooling fan moves air through the battery pack to help maintain proper operating temperature and prevent overheating of the battery cells. Over time dust, debris, pet hair, or other contaminants can accumulate in the cooling ducts, especially when the air intake is located inside the vehicle cabin. This buildup can restrict airflow and put additional strain on the cooling fan. In some cases the electric motor that drives the fan may wear out or fail. At FIX SERVICE we diagnose the hybrid battery cooling system, clean the air ducts, and replace the cooling fan or motor when necessary. After the repair the system is tested to confirm proper airflow and cooling performance. Because hybrid system designs vary between manufacturers and models, the exact repair procedure and final cost are determined after inspection.
