Replacement of windshield and side windows

Automotive glass is not a permanent component and can become damaged over time for many different reasons. Windshields commonly develop chips from road debris such as stones, and small chips can eventually spread into larger cracks. Temperature changes can also cause stress cracks, especially during winter when the outside glass surface is cold while the interior of the vehicle is heated. Cracks often begin near the lower section of the windshield around the wiper area. Vehicle body movement and vibration during normal driving can gradually cause these cracks to expand. In New York City it is also common for side windows to be broken if valuables are left inside the vehicle. When this happens it is important to carefully remove all broken glass from the interior and inside the door panels. At FIX SERVICE we thoroughly clean the vehicle using professional tools and vacuums to remove small glass fragments before installing a replacement window.
