Power steering system bleeding
The power steering pump is a mechanical component of the steering system and is typically driven by the engine's serpentine belt. Over time the pump can wear out, develop noise, lose hydraulic pressure, or begin leaking power steering fluid. Common symptoms include stiff steering, whining noise while turning, visible fluid leaks, or vibration in the steering wheel. On some vehicles the pump is easy to access, while on others replacing it may require removing the serpentine belt, pulleys, or additional engine components. Our mechanics perform a full power steering system inspection, replace the power steering pump when necessary, check the drive belt and related components, and properly bleed the system after installation to remove air and restore smooth steering operation.
