Engine cooling system service
The thermostat is a key component of the engine cooling system and controls the proper circulation of coolant. When the engine is cold the thermostat stays closed, allowing the engine to warm up quickly to its optimal operating temperature. Once that temperature is reached the thermostat opens and allows coolant to flow through the radiator. Over time thermostats can fail and become stuck either open or closed. If stuck closed the engine can overheat quickly. If stuck open the engine may take a long time to warm up and operate less efficiently. In addition leaks may develop around the thermostat housing or its seals. At FIX SERVICE our technicians diagnose cooling system issues and replace the thermostat and housing when necessary. Timely replacement of this component helps prevent overheating and protects the engine from more serious damage. We service vehicles for drivers from New York and Brooklyn.
