Thermostats and thermostat housings

The thermostat regulates engine temperature and is an important part of the cooling system. There are both mechanical and electronically controlled thermostats, and over time they can wear out or fail. On some vehicles the thermostat is integrated with the housing, which can eventually crack due to heat cycles and material fatigue. It is also important to understand that aftermarket parts do not always match the exact specifications of the original manufacturer, which can cause improper operation on certain vehicles. This is especially important on modern engines where the cooling system and temperature sensors must operate accurately. At FIX SERVICE we diagnose the cooling system, quickly identify the problem, and in most cases install OEM components to ensure reliable engine operation.
